Hello, I’m Sarah.

I run Sarah Miller Cooks from my home in the Chew Valley.

If you’re thinking about joining me in my kitchen - or inviting me into yours - you’ll probably want to know my story and why cooking is so important to me.

Well, I’ve always cooked – right from when I had to stand on a stool at the kitchen counter to make cheese straws. I cook every day: I cook for my family, for my friends and sometimes for people I don’t know. I cook because I love food and eating! I cook because that’s how I show people I love them and how I look after them.  I cook because I believe that cooking food from scratch is the very best way to look after your health.

I grew up on a dairy farm in Herefordshire. While my Dad looked after the cows, my Mum ran a very busy B&B and afternoon tea business, so our kitchen was always a hive of activity. (She did dinners too – after all, it was the eighties and gastropubs hadn’t been invented yet!)

After time in a professional kitchen and a stint as a chalet girl, I was drawn down the corporate path – I spent eight years working in HR and Corporate and Social Responsibility at Dyson. After I had my two daughters, food and cooking called me back – and Sarah Miller Cooks was born.

To stretch my skills and grow my experience, I’ve studied Leiths courses in Nutrition in Culinary Practice and Food Styling. I’ve hosted pop up restaurants at home and in private venues.

I can’t wait to welcome you to Sarah Miller Cooks. Through my cooking workshops and 1:1 sessions, I’ll show you how food can nourish and nurture you, supporting your whole family’s health and wellbeing.

  • ‘Cooking from scratch is the single most important thing we could do as a family to improve our health and well being’

    - Michael Pollan, Author of ‘Food Rules’

  • ‘If I had to pick one single piece of advice to help you improve your child’s diet, it would be to cook more from scratch.’

    - Lucinda Miller Author of ‘The Good Stuff’
